She won't go down without a fight. Basically, Maddie hates backstabbers, loves crazy people, and is basically pretty crazy herself. It's her rockstar attitude and funloving, free self that carries her through the days. she is overall a very unique person.Character's History:
Maddie was born in Seattle, Washington in…well, one of those hospitals. Her mother and father were so pleased to have a squirmy little baby in their arms. They, two parents striving to have a little girl, had tried and tried again. Finally, their third child was that little girl, following her over-achiever older brother Lance and the middle brother, Joel. When she was born, they were eight and two.Post Sample:
Growing up, Maddie showed a passionate love for all music. She sang all the time. You couldn't even get her to shut up in class. She had to at least hum. While people said they were annoyed by this, they were secretly enthralled. Who couldn't be? A spontaneous young girl singing her heart out all the time, and in a beautiful pitch as well. Everyone in her family knew she was going to become famous. She also loved the guitar, an old talent of her father's, and picked that up as well.
She got along great with her brother, Joel. They were only a couple years apart, anyway. They had the same taste in music (Metal! And, some other rock genres), they had the same interests (video games?) and they loved picking on Lance. When Maddie was nine, Lance was already getting ready to go off to college. He got accepted to an Ivy League, and everyone was thrilled.
Even more thrilled they were the day Maddie got accepted into Talbot's Academy of the Arts! She got the part of music major, of course. Before she knew it, she had packed her bags and was on a plane to England.
She was fourteen, and in her third year at Talbot's academy when it happened. She got a rushed phone call from her parents. She was actually rushed home for the emergency. And when she arrived, she discovered the worst news. Joel had been shot at school. Her loving brother was killed by a careless druggie.
After that, nothing was the same. Maddie still sang, of course. But now she sang for Joel. She played her guitar for him as well. Her parents were quieter and distant. Lance had forgotten all about his family. Maddie's father was even going a little mad. Suddenly, Maddie found that being away from her family was keeping her sane. No one knew of her loss and she refused to tell anyone. She created a shadow in herself. She was still happy and unique, but weirdly empty inside.
Now she starts her fifth year at Talbot's Academy. Her passed is best left behind her, and she yearns to feel again.
It was raining, like always. Seattle was covered with a snug blanket of gray, thundering clouds. It was too early on a Saturday for anyone to be awake. Yet there she stood, staring from her apartment's wide window. She stared at the silent buildings, the people living in there probably stirring silently in their sleep. She stared at the rain falling fast and hard, splattering onto the window. She stared at the cloudy blanket covering the city. She couldn't help but sigh.Pop Quiz Question:
Something about her had changed. No longer did she feel that light she always felt emanating from her heart. It had turned off somehow. Now, the only thing Maddie could feel was emptiness. It broke her heart. Emotions were something she loved to feel, but she couldn't feel them anymore. Not with Joel gone...
It had been some time, about an hour maybe. The rain suddenly stopped, but Maddie didn't notice. How could she not have noticed? She used to always be so aware of the rain. She leaned her forehead against the cool glass of the window and closed her eyes. Memories flashed before her underneath her eyelids. It made the emptiness stronger. It almost engulfed her.
Her cheeks were damp. Her eyes were scratchy. Something was making her cry, but she couldn't hear herself. Her sobs were mute. Her gasps were slight. She couldn't even feel why she cried the way she did. All she knew was that she wanted to run...she wanted to run away from it all.
